6 is Westshore Bridge, I have a photo of it from a side view
Thanks Suzanne
no 3 – this image was almost certainly not taken in NZ. Where would one find the combination of white washed house walls, roman tiled roof, stone tower, limestone cliff and what looks like candelabra cactuses on the cliffs in the forefront? My pick would be somewhere in southern Spain or the Canaries
no. 5 – Kaitangata Coal Company’s Mine near Balclutha – thanks Fay
No. 5) Looks more like a gold mine/gold processing site perhaps Golden progress but Im not quite sure looks like its from up Central Otago anyway
Could no 2 be Knox College in Dunedin?
I endorse the idea that 4 is Kaeo – the hill behind is Pohue pa (NZ Historic Places Trust registered) which belonged to Te Ara (George), connected to the Boyd, 1809.
thanks Stuart!
no. 6 also as the 1918 road and rail bridge over the Ahuriri Estuary, Westshore, Napier. – thanks Karen & Andrea!
no. 4 has been identified as Kaeo – thanks
From the date and the urban-looking kerb channelling in such a rural location, the North Island township scene looks like it it most likely a Waikato hydro scheme town.
