I suppose doing the mural wasn't all about who gets it either. In part it was just about raising awareness with some publicity for the final push for donations for the Samoa relief fund. I'm not sure how much the whole event actually raised, but I think it was well over $150,000 as I was finishing the mural. Pretty bloody awsome. I wouldn't be at all surprised if one day in the future I went to Samoa for a holiday and saw bits of the mural being used as a door for a pig pen or the shutter on one of those crazy little stores they have avarywhere...
