I’m Victoria Leachman, Rights Adviser at Te Papa. Thanks to support from National Services Te Paerangi and Creative Commons Aotearoa New Zealand I’m going to be on the road around the country in March. I’ll be talking with staff from heritage institutions about copyright, collections, and Creative Commons.
If you’re a staff member of a gallery, library, archive or museum and you’re interested in finding out more about copyright and creative commons licensing then here are some free events on in March you should sign up for.
National Services Te Paerangi Workshops
I’ll be presenting a day-long workshop on copyright and heritage collections in:
Nelson on Friday 6 March 2015
New Plymouth on Wednesday 11 March 2015
Click on the links to register and register now as spaces are limited and will be available on a first come, first serve basis. I’m really looking forward to meeting and catching up with my colleagues around the country and promoting the new edition of the Copyright in Museums (pdf) resource guide published earlier this year by National Services Te Paerangi.
Creative Commons Aotearoa New Zealand Events
Matt and Elizabeth from Creative Commons Aotearoa New Zealand are also going on the road during March. They are holding events for the culture and heritage sector on all things copyright and Creative Commons. I’ll be joining them for some of the events to talk about Te Papa’s use of Creative Commons licenses. They’ve worked hard to get great speakers at all the events. This is your chance to find out more about Creative Commons licenses and how you can use them in your work. The dates are:
For those teachers, school leaders, or school board of trustee members, there is also a Creative Commons Road Trip for Schools happening in March as well.
Please pass this information on to anyone you think might be interested. I’m off to start packing my bags.
