Kia ora francoisepadellec, thanks for your comments and questions. I'm about to follow this entry up with a discussion about how I selected objects from my collection (the Maori collection) and some of the things I had to consider in that selection. I'll also try and reflect on the Google Art project and my first reactions to it.

With regards to the photos, I wish I could say I was using some awesome kind of $10, 000 camera but alas no. I was actually using two cameras - a Canon G11 and my iPhone. The images in this blog, because I didn't take my laptop with me and was writing on an iPad, are from my iPhone out of convenience. The effects are filters from different apps. Hope that helps.

Read other blogs about Wellington Council's discussions about funding cuts and thank you for your support. And yes indeed, Paris in the Spring is wonderful! Nga mihi nui.

It is great that TePapa is part of this amazing project. What a fantastic way of looking at objects when you cannot see them for real. It actually feels like the real thing. Very timely development too on the eve of some possible short-sighted budget cuts. I like how you can be directed back to the online collection page on the TePapa website straight from the artwork and vice versa. I have also done a keyword search on your catalogue with "google art project" and I got the list of 166 objects you currently have included. By the way, how did you choose those 166 objects from the thousands you have? What were your selection criteria?
Finally, I found the photos on your blog post stylistically interesting and wondered what type of camera you used and if you enhanced them in any way (particularly the last one of a Louvre room with an out of focus/blurred ceiling). The square format may be a clue but I am curious.
Have a great Easter in Paris. I love going round the museums in Paris, I am jealous..

Being in Wellington myself, I will be coming to put a sticky note on your wall this weekend in support of TePapa. The difficult thing is choosing a service. I might have to post several.
