I have a feeling the Marchant you might have spotted could be Eric Lauchlan Marchant, I came across references to him quite a lot during my research and he seems to have been a fairly prominent public figure and had a long life past his war service.  Sounds interesting though, so would be great to hear about it if you come across any juicy details. It&#039;s my last week in my internship at Te Papa next week, so for now email is Kiera.Gould@tepapa.govt.nz, but after the 30th Sept I would pass any information on to Kirstie Ross, Curator of History, at KirstieR@tepapa.govt.nz
