Is Te Papa’s specimen larger than the model of a giant squid I saw in the museum in Adelaide? They said it was modelled on the largest squid ever recorded and it is displayed in a 4 storey high unused lift shaft. Their website said it is 11 metres in length and from tail to arm tip, with the feeding tentacles 85 metres in length.
